ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Twenty people sustained injuries as a result of a 13-vehicle collision that included an ambulance on the I-275 South off-ramp Wednesday.
The crash took place at 5:30 p.m. at the ramp connecting to 22nd Avenue South, according to WTSP. EMS crews issued one person a trauma alert and transported them to a hospital.
Transportation workers shut down the area for several hours for the clean-up process and have reopened all lanes since.
The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. At this time, they have not been able to confirm any contributing factors.
