PLANT CITY, FL – A chain-reaction collision involving three vehicles on I-4 sent seven people to a hospital Thursday morning, according to FOX 13 News.
The events unfolded around 6 a.m., just before the Thonotosassa Road exit, when the driver of a Hyundai van rear-ended a Chevy Tahoe, forcing the Chevy to crash into the back of a Chevy Silverado.
The driver of the Silverado sustained minor wounds that did not require a trip to the hospital, while the four Hyundai van passengers and three people inside the Chevy Tahoe were hospitalized for serious lacerations.
Due to the severity of this wreck, crews were left with no choice but to shut down a good portion of the interstate’s westbound lanes. There have been no reports of lane reopenings at this time.
