BRADENTON, FL – A 77-year-old driving a sedan passed away after he crashed into a semi-truck head-on at the SR 70 and I-75 connector Saturday.
The events unfolded after 9:30 a.m. when the man drifted off eastbound SR-70 and went into the semi-truck driver’s lane, MySunCoast said. Florida Highway Patrol said both drivers were approaching the I-95 South off-ramp when they collided.
The crash’s impact claimed the life of the elderly man and left his passenger in critical condition.
No injuries were reported for the semi-truck driver, nor have troopers shared additional information regarding the crash.
