BRANDON, FL – Two Hillsborough County deputies were sent to the hospital after they were intentionally struck by a driver Thursday.  

FOX 13 News said the officials were run over while responding to a mental health crisis call. Footage showed Deputy Manuel Santos and Corporal Carlos Brito attempting to get out of the way. Their attempt was unsuccessful, and both were pinned inside or under the vehicle. 

Other first responders left the crash site (which was unspecified) and transported the deputies to Tampa General Hospital. Brito may have to get his leg amputated, and Santos will have to have surgery for a serious leg injury.

SARASOTA, FL – At least one person sustained injuries in a collision reported in the Siesta Key community before 7 p.m. Thursday. 

Sarasota County deputies revealed this crash happened on the 1308th block of Old Stickney Point Road near Crescent Beach.

TAMPA, FL – At least one person suffered unspecified wounds in a collision reported in the Lake Magdalene district after 7 p.m. Thursday. 

This crash happened at the East Bearss Avenue and North Florida Avenue junction, Hillsborough County deputies confirmed. 

Deputies have not yet said what contributed to this collision or revealed any information on the occupants and vehicles involved.

DOVER, FL – Florida Highway Patrol was summoned to a reported vehicle on I-4 West at mile marker 14 north of the Tampa East RV Community before 7 p.m. Wednesday. 

Troopers gave no mention of whether this fire posed any risk to the drivers and community, only indicating signs of smoke. 

There has been no update regarding if the fire was caused by an automobile malfunction or due to a crash. Troopers also have not said how long it took fire crews to extinguish the flames.

SARASOTA SPRINGS, FL – Sarasota County fire crews were summoned to a crash with sustained injuries along The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes Wednesday.

This collision was reported at the Riviera Drive and South Beneva Road junction. Officials are examining the specifics of what led to this crash and did not reveal the kind of vehicles and people involved, say how many were hurt, or indicate the severity of the sustained wounds.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Hillsborough County deputies confirmed that at least one person was injured in a crash near the Lutz community on Wednesday. 

This collision happened on the 5200 block of I-275 North, and deputies arrived at the scene before 6:15 p.m. 

Deputies are investigating the specifics of this collision and have not provided more information at this time.

RIVERVIEW, FL – A crash at the Balm Riverview Road and Woodside Drive resulted in at least one person sustaining injuries on Tuesday. 

Hillsborough County deputies just arrived at the scene and have not specified the kind of people and vehicles involved, the severity of injuries, or revealed other information at this time.

THONOTOSASSA, FL – A 34-year-old man was traveling at a high rate, leading him to crash his Honda Civic into two sign supports, the car spitting in half, and resulting in his death. 

This collision occurred on the I-75 North off-ramp (just before U.S. 301) before 8 p.m. Sunday, according to WTSP

First responders rushed the man and the two passengers with him to area hospitals. Later, at the medical facility, the man succumbed to fatal injuries.

TAMPA, FL – A driver of a car crashed into a concrete barrier amid a construction zone on the Howard Franklin Bridge, leading to major traffic backup Tuesday. 

According to a WFLA report, it is not clear what led to this collision if anyone was injured, or what exactly led to this crash.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – A driver of a Ford Escape caused a crash when he failed to stop at a New Port Richey junction before fleeing the scene Sunday. 

This collision was reported before 12:30 p.m. at the De Cubellis Road & Ridge Road intersection, along the Village Oaks Shopping Center, ABC Action News revealed. 

The Ford truck driver continued traveling north on De Cubellis after hitting the Nissan Altima. The Nissan motorist, a 66-year-old man, escaped sustained wounds. The suspect, who was described as having a cast on his left arm and a cobra tattoo on his right leg, then failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, his car rolled over several times, and he fled the scene on foot after it came to rest.
