by

TAMPA, FL – EMS crews rushed a 62-year-old woman to a local hospital following an I-75 rear-end collision near the Tampa Executive Airport Monday.

Florida Highway Patrol told ABC Action News that just before 11:30 a.m., a 55-year-old man driving a semi-truck had first rear-ended a Nissan Altima. The Nissan driver, the 62-year-old woman, then was pushed forward and struck another vehicle. Three other vehicles — a Suzuki Grand Vitara, a Toyota Camry, and a Honda Accord — rear-ended each other.

After all the vehicles collided, one gray car slammed into a guardrail, and one red car was left completely totaled.

The 62-year-old woman was the only injured person. Her current physical condition is unknown.

Officials shut down the area until 2:45 p.m.
