SARASOTA, FL – A hit-and-run suspect was responsible for hitting a woman and two children with their car, claiming the kids’ lives and leaving the lady in critical condition Monday.

Sarasota Police told My SunCoast that they believe the suspect was operating a white Lexus ES300 car when they ran over the victims at the intersection of North Washington Boulevard and 7th Street.

EMS crews transported the woman, 29, and the kids with her, a 5-month-old baby and a 2-year-old toddler, to local hospitals. There, the children pass away while the woman continues to fight for her life.

Eyewitnesses told police that they last saw the suspect driving on SR 683 South and 7th Street East, making U-turns both times.

Police are actively searching for the suspect, who said their car, a 2013 to 2018 model, has damage to the right side.
