NEAR LAKELAND, FL – Two were injured, and a 49-year-old man lost his life as a result of a three-vehicle collision on Ewell Road near Lakeland Thursday.
According to ABC Action News, the 49-year-old man — Thomas Holloway — drove a 2020 Kia Soul and drifted off his center line, sideswiping a 2019 Chevrolet pickup truck.
Holloway had then struck a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, which traveled behind the Chevrolet truck. The impact caused Holloway’s engine to detach, and he succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
First responders rushed the pickup truck driver, 53-year-old Jose Castro, and the Hyundai driver, 26-year-old Logan Barrand, to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
