News: 4 hurt as driver fails to yield, causes crash in Sarasota

SARASOTA, FL – A driver of an unspecified vehicle failed to yield and struck a second automobile, injuring both drivers and two passengers, all of whom were teenagers, Monday. 

MySunCoast said this two-automobile collision occurred after 9 p.m. at the Proctor Road and Lords Avenue intersection. After arriving, first responders closed west and eastbound lanes on Proctor and reopened all lanes along Lords Avenue. 

Authorities said the driver who failed to yield was an 18-year-old teenager who was seriously injured, and the second driver, a 16-year-old teenager, was left in critical condition. 

The two passengers, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old teenager sustained serious wounds. 

Police started an investigation and have not released other information.
