News: Cyclist, 65, fatally struck by vehicle on Bearss Ave.

TAMPA, FL – A 65-year-old bicyclist died Monday morning when he was struck by a vehicle at an intersection in the Tampa area, according to WFLA.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 7:26 a.m. reporting a collision between a driver and a bicyclist at Bearss Avenue and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.

Deputies arriving at the scene found the man on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver told deputies she had a green light and did not see the man crossing the street on his bicycle.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities have not released the names of the bicyclist or the driver.
