WIMAUMA, FL – A cyclist, a 19-year-old man, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died after he was hit by a driver who fled the scene Saturday.
This collision happened before 8:30 p.m. on eastbound S.R. 674 west of 4th Street, according to ABC Action News. Florida Highway Patrol, who was summoned to the scene said the cyclist was from Guatemala.
FHP is taking the lead investigation on this matter, said the driver, who was said to have operated a red Dodge Charger with black rims, left behind some car parts.
Troopers are working to actively find the suspect and pinpoint other contributing factors behind this wreck.
