News: Man, 46, killed in boat collision near Longboat Key

MANATEE COUNTY, FL – A 46-year-old man passed away after a boat vessel collided with a channel marker off the coast of Longboat Key Friday. 

Authorities said this collision happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 600th block of Jungle Queen Way on the Intracoastal Waterway, MySunCoast revealed. 

Longboat Key Fire Rescue crews said that among several parties involved, two people were left in serious condition and taken to a local trauma center. 

The 46-year-old man was later identified as Mark Hall by The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (who also was called to the scene.) 

The Manatee County Fire Rescue,  the Longboat Police Department, some lifeguards, and the U.S. Coast Guard also responded to this collision. 

Authorities have not provided other details, including the condition of the second person involved in this wreck.
