News: Man, 48, loses life after crash with parked car in Sarasota

by

SARASOTA, FL – An ambulance transported a 48-year-old man to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he passed away after colliding with a parked car Wednesday.

Florida Highway Patrol told WFLA that this collision occurred after 9 p.m. in the 5300th block of Antoinette Street.

Preliminary details from FHP indicate that the driver, for reasons unclear, lost control of his car, went right through a flower bed, came into contact with a ditch, and then crashed into a parked car.

Troopers said the stationary vehicle was underneath a carport attached to a mobile home. The portable house was damaged, but the owner was able to walk away from this wreck unscathed.

Authorities launched an investigation and have not shared additional information with the public at this time.
