DOVER, FL – A 53-year-old man walking along the railroad tracks passed away when he was struck by an Amtrak train Saturday.
This collision took place in the area of Sydney Dover Road and East Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Authorities later identified the man as Andres Pop-Tulip.
CSX Police and Amtrak investigators were called to assist HCSO, who will be taking the lead on this investigation.
HCSO does not have much information at this time but did confirm that the train was traveling east when it struck Pop-Tulip.
