TAMPA, FL – A 21-year-old man had traveled south on I-75 North, leading him to crash his Lexus IS head-on with a Chevrolet Colorado, resulting in the Chevrolet catching on fire.
This collision happened before 3:45 a.m. Sunday south of SR-56, WFLA reported. After the Lexus and Chevrolet collided, the Lexus driver then hit a Hyundai Santa Fe before stopping.
The Hyundai driver, a 36-year-old woman, a Zephyrhills resident, was unharmed. Florida Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet motorist, a 37-year-old man, and the 21-year-old man (both from Wesley Chapel) sustained serious wounds.
Troopers did not confirm if both men were transported to a hospital nor revealed their current condition.
The details of this collision remain under investigation, although officials speculated that the 21-year-old man may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he drove the wrong way.
