ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A pursuit-turned-crash ended in a 30-year-old woman’s arrest and injured at least one person last Thursday, April 3, WFLA reports.
Pinellas Park police tried to pull over the woman, Janai Fowler, for a severely cracked windshield and illegal tint. Fowler refused and sped up. Officers used stop sticks, which resulted in two of Fowler’s tires coming undone.
Fowler continued driving until she crashed on I-275 near 38th Avenue. After the collision, she took her two passengers with her – two children — and fled the scene on foot, going north.
St. Petersburg police located Fowler and arrested her. She was charged with ” fleeing and eluding a police officer and leaving the scene of a crash involving injury.”
Police did not specify who was injured and what their current physical condition is.
New information, which includes mentions of any upcoming court dates, will be added if and when they become available.
