ST. PETERSBURG, FL – On Wednesday, police confirmed that it was a 34-year-old who intentionally ran his brother over along Campbell Park, leading him to die from his wounds.

To recap, this crash occurred before 2:45 a.m. Monday at the 7th Avenue South and 12th Street South junction. ABC Action News said the suspect’s name is Tyree Gland, and the victim who passed away was 35-year-old Taiwan James Gland. St. Petersburg police said Tyree ran over Taiwan twice before Taiwan succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. 

Tyree has yet to be found and was last seen driving away in a dark blue 2018 Cadillac ATS with the license plate number AT21AH. The passenger with Tyree at the time of the collision has been identified as 32-year-old Sebastian Williams, who is being “charged and arrested accessory after the fact to 1st-degree murder.” He was arrested Wednesday.

SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota Police were dispatched to a crash at the North Tamiami Trail and Gulfstream Avenue junction along Gulfstream Park Tuesday. 

Police arrived at the scene after 6:20 p.m. They are trying to pinpoint the events that led to this collision and have not specified the kind of people and vehicles involved or said if anyone was injured.

TAMPA, FL – At least one person sustained injuries in a collision that happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday near Tampa International Airport. 

This crash occurred in the 4417th block of West Henry Avenue, according to a traffic report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office

Officials have not indicated the events leading up to this crash or said if anyone needed to be taken to a hospital. Additional details will be provided as our newsroom comes to learn more.

OLDSMAR, FL – A 73-year-old man tried to make a U-turn at a junction and collided with a motorcycle, leading the motorcyclist to die from his wounds Sunday. 

This collision occurred after 9:30 a.m. at the Tampa Road and Oak Leaf Boulevard intersection, according to WFLA. Authorities said the 73-year-old drove west on Tampa while the motorcyclist, who operated a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, traveled east. The bike was right in front of the 2006 gold Cadillac, leading them to collide. 

First responders took the motorcyclist to a hospital, where he died. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office only identified him as a 20-year-old man and has not released his name at this time.

BRANDON, FL – At least one person suffered wounds in a collision reported Monday evening along HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the events that led to this crash and has not provided additional information at this time.

TAMPA, FL – A man was taken to a hospital and then to Orient Road Jail after causing a three-vehicle collision that resulted in a 59-year-old woman’s death Sunday. 

The events of this wreck unfolded in the area of when the man — Jenri Fuentes Rodriguez — left a nightclub around 6 a.m., struck an occupied vehicle, and then fled the scene. WTSP said that Rodriguez then rammed into another automobile, fled the scene and down Waters at a high rate of speed, and then hit a third automobile, causing it to overturn multiple times.

The driver of the third victim vehicle, the 59-year-old woman, identified as Ann Marie Rutkowski, succumbed to fatal wounds.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A man walking along Campbell Park died after he was struck by a driver purposefully, St. Petersburg Police revealed Monday. 

This crash happened before 2:45 a.m. at the 7th Avenue South and 12th Street South junction, FOX 13 News indicated. Police said the pedestrian — 35-year-old Taiwan James Gland — died at the scene. 

Gland was the father of an 18-year-old adult who passed away in a shooting along the Citrus Grove Apartments.

TAMPA, FL – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run collision reported Friday morning at the North 24th Street and East 17th Avenue junction. 

Troopers have not said if anyone was injured, and they have not provided a description of the suspect or their vehicle at this time.

NORTH PORT, FL – A 23-year-old man operating a sedan rear-ended an SUV and was ejected from his sedan, leading him to suffer fatal wounds Tuesday night. 

This crash took place around 8 p.m. near mile marker 183, where the 23-year-old man was driving in the center lane, WFLA said. One SUV occupant sustained minor wounds and received medical attention at the crash site, while the SUV driver and other passengers were unharmed. 

Florida Highway Patrol launched an investigation and has not included additional details at this time.

TAMPA, FL – Hillsborough County firefighters were summoned to a semi-truck fire reported around 8:30 p.m. Thursday outside Walmart SuperCenter on Gunn Highway. 

First responders told WFLA that a caller noticed smoke coming from the back of the truck (storing empty wood pallets) and wanted crews to come. Fortunately, fire crews arrived a short time later and were able to ventilate the smoke out of the store and extinguish the flames. 

The driver and people inside and around the store were unharmed. It is not immediately clear what brought about the fire.
