SEMINOLE, FL – A 27-year-old man driving a 2016 Mazda sedan lost his life after he crashed into a fence and then stopped near a retention pond along Walsingham Park Sunday. 

This collision happened after 4 p.m. at the 102nd Avenue and Botanica Drive junction, according to Fox 13 News

The driver and sole occupant — 27-year-old Taylor Titus — was rushed to an area hospital where he died.

WEST TAMPA, FL – A pedestrian succumbed to fatal wounds after they were hit by a vehicle at the North Armenia Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard junction Wednesday. 

WTSP said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Tampa Police shut down the westbound lanes of Kennedy and reopened all lanes a few hours later.

NORTH SARASOTA, FL – Police were summoned to a crash before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at North Washington Boulevard and 17th Street.

This crash happened at the South 78th Street and Destin Drive intersection. ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A man in his 60s was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle in the United Central district Tuesday, leading him to die from his injuries. 

This collision happened after 6 a.m. at the 5th Avenue North and 49th Street North intersection, according to FOX 13 News

First responders took the cyclist to a hospital, where he died.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL – A 20-year-old man operating a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle was seriously hurt, and his passenger, a 21-year-old woman, died after his bike collided with an SUV. 

This collision happened in the 39000 block of U.S. Highway 19 before 8 p.m. Friday along AL Anderson Park. According to ABC Action News, the events of this crash unfolded when the driver of the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox struck the motorcycle. 

The passengers from Chevrolet were uninjured, and the motorist — 30-year-old Kayliegh McLiesh — was also unharmed, while the 21-year-old woman from the bike — Alina Faillios Chavez, 21 from Holiday — died at the scene.

According to recent state traffic accident data, Pinellas County had the highest percentage of pedestrian-involved crashes and fatalities in the state between 2019 and 2021.

A pedestrian was involved in an average of 503 collisions in Pinellas County between 2019 and 2021, the highest number of crashes in the state, according to data from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Furthermore, throughout the three-year period of 2019–2021, there were, on average, 44 fatalities and 441 injuries.

The data shows that there were 47,855 car crashes in Pinellas County between 2019 and 2021, with 1,509 of those involving pedestrians.

RIVERVIEW, FL – Traffic is at a standstill on I-75 North due to a collision reported after 5 p.m. Friday that led at least one person to sustain injuries. 

Florida Highway Patrol has not shut down any lanes at this time. They are investigating the circumstances that led to this crash and have not stated when the scene should clear. In addition, they have not specified the kind of people and vehicles involved.
