TAMPA, FL – A woman and man lost their lives in a crash at McKinley Drive and East Bougainvillea Avenue near University of South Florida (USF) on Monday. 

Tampa Police told WTSP that the man and woman were declared deceased at the scene shortly after the collision, which occurred at around 8:00 p.m.

Footage taken at the site showed a totaled black vehicle, but police did not specify whether it was the only vehicle involved. The events leading up to this crash remain unclear.

MYAKKA CITY, FL – A passenger was killed Friday when a driver swerved onto SR-70 West and then off the roadway, striking multiple stationary objects and causing their car to overturn. 

This collision occurred before 1:30 p.m. near Robinson Road, according to WFLA. Florida Highway Patrol said that after the driver collided with three mailboxes and a tree, the car overturned overturned and came to rest on a grassy shoulder. The impact of the wreck fatally injured a male passenger — a Sarasota resident — who was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Paramedics took the driver and a female passenger to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 21-year-old man died on Monday after he fell out of a stolen gray Jeep Cherokee in the Melrose-Mercy neighborhood before 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10th. 

ABC Action News said the 21-year-old man, who has been identified as Vincent Green, leaped onto the Jeep but then fell as the driver — 22-year-old Ke’Andrae Davis — sped off on 20th Street South. 

Davis lost control of the Jeep, causing it to overturn. He fled the scene and was later apprehended by the St. Petersburg Police Department on Wednesday, Feb. 14th. He will face vehicular homicide charges, police confirmed.

BRANDON, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a hit-and-run collision reported at Briarcliff Road and East Lumsden Road Monday afternoon. 

Deputies have not specified the events leading up to this crash or released a description of the suspect or vehicle. They were able to confirm that no one sustained any injuries in this collision.

PINELLAS PARK, FL – A bicyclist was taken to a hospital where they died after they were struck by a Kia Forte in the 6500 block 66th Street North Sunday. 

This crash happened before 12:30 a.m. when the Kia Forte driver struck the front of the bicycle, according to ABC Action News

The driver remained at the scene and will not be facing charges or citations at this time.

TAMPA, FL – A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and two drivers were unharmed following a three-vehicle collision in the Temple Terrace neighborhood Saturday. 

This crash happened before 1 p.m. at the North 56th Street and East Fowler Avenue intersection, ABC Action News revealed. 

The collision unfolded when a driver of a red Toyota RAV4 made a right turn from North 56th onto Fowler and went in front of the trooper’s vehicle, resulting in the two colliding. The trooper hit the front left side of the Toyota, and the impact led the patrol car to ram into a red Hyundai Sonata.

TAMPA, FL – At least one person suffered unspecified wounds after they were struck by a driver who then fled the scene in the Greater Carrollwood neighborhood Friday. 

This collision took place before 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Turner Road and Arbor Hills Road junction. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has not said what led to this crash nor provided a description of the suspect or their vehicle.

NEAR PLANT CITY, FL – A 44-year-old road ranger sustained minor injuries when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 24-year-old driver who was allegedly impaired Friday. 

The collision happened around 1:45 p.m. on I-4, according to Bay News 9, when a 24-year-old man proceeded to drive through westbound lanes, which were closed due to a previous collision. 

Deputies said they arrived to find the 24-year-old man, Vladislav Viktor Sushchik, walking away from the collision site.

TAMPA, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision along the Orange Hill cemetery that led at least one person to suffer injuries Thursday. 

After 6 p.m., deputies responded to the East Chelsea Street and North 50th Street junction. They are investigating the specifics of what led to this collision and have not disclosed the kind of people and vehicles involved and specified the type of injuries sustained.
