BRANDON, FL – A collision at the SR-60 and South Moon Avenue intersection has led at least one person to sustain injuries and is blocking an eastbound turning lane. 

Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of this crash before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers have not revealed when the collision will be cleared, indicated the events leading up to this incident, or specified the type of people and vehicles involved.

SARASOTA, FL – A driver of a vehicle was traveling north on 14th Street West went over a raised curb and hit a cyclist, leading the cyclist to suffer fatal injuries Wednesday. 

This collision happened before 9 p.m. Prior to hitting the cyclist, the motorist struck a utility pole, according to ABC Action News. The cyclist, who was only identified as a 33-year-old adult, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officials also confirmed that after the initial crash, the debris from this wreck had struck a pedestrian. The unidentified person was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor wounds.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL – A driver crashed their car into a tree after swerving to avoid hitting other automobiles amid standstill traffic, resulting in the death of their passenger. 

This single-vehicle collision happened before 6:45 p.m. Sunday on I-75 South near mile marker 194, according to the Herald-Tribune

The passenger succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene, while the driver was hospitalized for serious wounds.

LARGO, FL – A 33-year-old man who ran a red light at an intersection and struck another vehicle that claimed the lives of two people has been arrested this week. 

FOX 13 News indicated that the collision happened on East Bay Drive on Sunday, Jan. 28 when the 33-year-old man — Llia Andoni — went 92 mph in a 45 mph zone when he hit the other vehicle. The occupants of that automobile succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. The victims were identified as 22-year-old Ariadna Sanchez Monroy and 26-year-old Paulino Trego-Menoza. 

Authorities have charged Andoni with “two counts of vehicular homicide.”

THONOTOSASSA, FL – A woman who was said to have been impaired when she fatally struck a pedestrian in December was arrested on Monday, February 5th. 

This collision happened at the Harney Road and Williams Road on Tuesday, December 19th, according to FOX 13 News. The pedestrian was identified as 30-year-old Sabrina Rohrback. 

The intoxicated motorist — 34-year-old Tamra Warden — had a 3-year-old child with her at the time of the collision. Warden had a blood alcohol level of 0.14, which is six times over the legal limit. Warden has been “charged with DUI manslaughter, child neglect, and DUI accompanied by a person under 18.”

SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota Police are investigating a collision that was reported before 4:30 p.m. Monday in the Oakwood Manor neighborhood. 

This crash took place at the Fruitville Road and Oakwood Boulevard intersection. 

Police have not said what caused this crash or revealed the severity of wounds sustained.

BRANDON, FL – At least one person sustained injuries in a collision reported Monday at the West Bloomingdale Avenue and Buckhorn Creek Road junction. 

Hillsborough County deputies arrived at the scene before 4:15 p.m. Deputies are trying to pinpoint the circumstances that have led to this collision and have not provided more information regarding the kinds of people and vehicles involved or specified the sustained wounds.

TAMPA, FL – A child was sent to the hospital for treatment of minor wounds after an SUV struck the Hillsborough County school bus they traveled on Monday. 

This collision happened after 7 a.m. at the North Rome Avenue and West Columbus Drive junction along Riverside Garden Park, according to ABC Action News
