HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were injured after their Acura TL was hit by an alleged DUI driver Thursday. 

FOX 13 News said this collision took place around 1:45 a.m. on SR-589 North. Ramon Luis Rivera, who was the driver suspected of impairment, drove in the wrong direction, going south on SR-589 North. Rivera collided with the Acura, sustaining minor wounds. Authorities later arrested him for “DUI involving serious injury.” 

Florida Highway Patrol did not specify on which side Rivera hit the Acura, only stating it was nearly struck head-on. Regardless, the man and woman, both Trinity residents, sustained serious wounds. Florida Highway Patrol did not say if the woman was transported to a hospital but did confirm the man was.

ENGLEWOOD, FL – A man from Englewood is facing manslaughter charges in connection to a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Englewood on Thursday evening.

According to a report by ABC News, an SUV was attempting to make the left turn from Indiana Avenue onto 1st Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. when it collided with the southbound motorcyclist.

The rider, a 19-year-old man from Englewood, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

WEST TAMPA, FL – Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene of a hit-and-run crash that was reported after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on I-275 South at mile marker 42. 

Troopers arrived at the scene before 8 p.m. They have not indicated the sequence of events leading up to this collision, said if anyone sustained injuries, or have provided a description of the suspect and their vehicle.

VENICE, FL – At least one person sustained injuries when a silver Honda Accord rolled over south of the Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club Sunday. 

This collision occurred before 11:45 a.m. at the Shamrock Boulevard and Northampton Street junction, WWSB reported. It is not immediately clear if it was a driver or passenger who was injured. Regardless, officials did confirm they were not sent to a hospital. 

No additional information has been made available.

BRANDON, FL – Hillsborough County deputies are investigating a crash at Providence Lakes Boulevard and Providence Road junction that injured at least one person Wednesday. 

Deputies arrived at the scene at 6:45 p.m. It is not immediately clear what led to this collision. Deputies have also not specified the severity of injuries sustained or revealed the kind of people and vehicles involved.

RUSKIN, FL – At least one person suffered injuries in a collision reported at the U.S. 41 and 19th Avenue Northeast Tuesday night. 

Florida Highway Patrol was summoned to the scene around 6:07 p.m. and arrived at the scene before 6:30 p.m. They are investigating the exact details leading up to this crash and have not indicated other details at this time.

WIMAUMA, FL – A 62-year-old man was walking across U.S. 301 South when he was struck by a GMC SUV, leading him to suffer fatal wounds Monday.

The 62-year-old man from Illinois was declared dead at the scene, FOX 13 News reported. Florida Highway Patrol did not specify whether the pedestrian used a crosswalk or was jaywalking. In addition, they did not indicate pending charges. Regardless of these details, they are investigating the specifics of Monday’s wreck and have not provided additional comments.

TAMPA, FL – A 21-year-old man had traveled south on I-75 North, leading him to crash his Lexus IS head-on with a Chevrolet Colorado, resulting in the Chevrolet catching on fire.

This collision happened before 3:45 a.m. Sunday south of SR-56, WFLA reported. After the Lexus and Chevrolet collided, the Lexus driver then hit a Hyundai Santa Fe before stopping.

The Hyundai driver, a 36-year-old woman, a Zephyrhills resident, was unharmed. Florida Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet motorist, a 37-year-old man, and the 21-year-old man (both from Wesley Chapel) sustained serious wounds.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Florida Highway Patrol revealed that at least one person suffered injuries in a crash on I-275 North near Sawgrass Lake Park Monday. 

Troopers were summoned to the scene at approximately 5:19 p.m. and arrived at the crash site at precisely 5:42 p.m. They are investigating the specifics of this collision and have not indicated the contributing factors leading up to the crash, revealed the kind of people and vehicles involved, or other information.

ST PETERSBURG, FL – A 15-year-old girl had hurried across 1st Avenue and was struck by a trolly, leaving her in critical condition Sunday. 

A FOX 13 News report showed that the teenage girl was coming off a SunRunner bus and allegedly ran or walked quickly across the road without using a crosswalk. As a result, she was struck, the impact jolting her several feet. The driver and two trolly occupants were also hospitalized, although their wounds were deemed minor.

The girl, whose name has not been released and who shall remain nameless due to her status as a minor, is recovering at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
