LARGO, FL – A 56-year-old man crossing Roosevelt Boulevard lost his life after getting struck by two drivers, one of whom fled the scene Wednesday night. 

The Largo Police Department believes the hit-and-run suspect, who was the first driver, was operating a dark-colored Mercury SUV or Ford when he struck the victim, according to WFLA

The second motorist stayed at the scene.

TAMPA, FL – At least one person suffered injuries in a collision reported at Bruce B Downs Boulevard and Norwood Oaks Drive in the Lake Forest area Thursday. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene before 7:30 p.m. Deputies launched an investigation but have not commented on the specifics behind this crash, listed the sort of people and vehicles involved, or whether anyone was hospitalized.

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL – A man operating a motor scooter was taken to Advent Health Tampa, where he perished after he was hit by two vehicles Tuesday. 

Local police told WFLA that this crash happened as the scooter rider was crossing westbound North 56th Street when he was struck by the vehicles traveling on westbound East Fowler Avenue. 

Officers said the drivers remained at the scene but did not say if they would face charges or citations.

TAMPA, FL – Florida Highway Patrol is currently at Suncoast Parkway North at mile marker 6, investigating a crash involving a FHP patrol car. 

FHP said they arrived at the scene at 5:38 p.m. Troopers have not yet commented on the specifics that led to this collision and have not stated whether anyone was injured or hospitalized. 

In addition, FHP did not say when the scene would clear or if any citations or charges were expected.

TAMPA, FL – First responders were dispatched to a crash involving a concrete truck or rock hauler on I-275 South Thursday, WFLA reported. 

After arriving at the collision site, crews closed the southbound lanes but reopened the area later. 

During the closures, drivers were asked to MLK Jr. Boulevard as an alternative route. As such, traffic delays could be seen building up on I-275 North.

BRANDON, FL – At least one person suffered injuries in a collision reported before 8:45 p.m. at the North Parsons Avenue and Victoria Street interchange. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, who initially received this call, has not mentioned the exact cause of this crash, listed the sort of vehicles and people involved, or said whether anyone was sent to the hospital.

LAKELAND, FL -A 36-year-old Tampa man was killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck early Saturday morning in Polk County, AOL reported.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said the crash occurred around 3:16 a.m. on US 98 North at Earnest Road.

According to PCSO Traffic Homicide detectives, the Tampa man, driving a 2020 Chevy Silverado southbound, attempted to pass another vehicle. He entered the northbound lane, directly into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL – Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a major multi-vehicle collision on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge Saturday. 

FHP told WFLA they arrived at the scene, at mile marker 10, before 4 p.m. Upon arrival, they shut down all northbound lanes for an hour to accommodate their investigation and the crews’ scene clearance process. 

The exact number of vehicles involved has not been verified. However, based on a photograph from the Florida Department of Transportation, it appears that at least six or seven automobiles were involved.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Florida Highway Patrol was called to a hit-and-run collision at 10:29 a.m. in the Williamsdale Square area. 

Troopers said this crash happened at the 113th Street North and 54th Avenue North intersection. 

FHP has not yet arrived at the collision site and, therefore, has not been able to comment on the events that led to this crash, provide a description of the suspect and their vehicle, or other details at this time.

TAMPA, FL – A crash with reported injuries is currently blocking I-275 South at mile marker 53, Florida Highway Patrol revealed. 

FHP was dispatched to the scene at 8:37 a.m. and arrived at approximately 9:04 a.m. 

Officials have not disclosed the exact cause of this crash, listed the sort of people and vehicles involved, or said if anyone needed to go to the hospital.
