BRANDON, FL – One person suffered serious injuries, and other occupants sustained minor injuries in a crash on I-75 S before 2 p.m. Wednesday. 

WTSP said the collision (which occurred amid heavy rains) involved an Amazon semi-truck. Lanes near State Road 60 are also closed.

Deputies arrived at the crash site at approximately 4:41 p.m.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL – A 42-year-old man was sent to the hospital after getting struck by a silver Chevy Impala on the 39016 block of northbound U.S. Highway. 

This wreck occurred before 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to ABC Action News. The passenger side of the Impala struck Issam Hatimi, leading him to be thrown before coming to rest along the eastern guardrail. He was rushed to Bayonet Point Hospital, where his condition remains unclear. 

The driver cooperated with investigators, and it is unclear if the person will be charged at this time.

SUN CITY, FL – A 39-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman from Tampa lost their lives after their sedan crashed into a tree and pole off U.S. 41 Wednesday, August 30. 

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the crash on Thursday, September 7, as indicated in a report from Tampa Beacon. It is unclear why the sedan driver — the 39-year-old Tampa man — veered off the road. 

Another passenger from Tampa  — an unidentified 46-year-old man — sustained serious injuries.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A pedestrian’s life was claimed in a hit-and-run collision on the 4000 block of Airport Road in Plant City before 7:30 a.m. Sunday. 

Tampa Bay Times said that the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name and age have not been released at this time. Plant City Police said that the vehicle that hit the man was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with damage sustained in the collision. Police have found and identified the suspect — 27-year-old Miguel Rodriguez — and arrested him. 

Rodriguez’s charges consist of “leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving while license suspended involving death or serious bodily injury.”

Hillsborough County deputies arrived at the scene before 5:45 p.m. They have not revealed the exact cause of this crash, said if anyone was hurt, or indicated the number of people and vehicles involved.

RUSKIN, FL – A Hillsborough County deputy was sent to the hospital after getting hit by a male driver who ran a red light and was suspected of being impaired Thursday. 

This collision took place before 4 a.m. on College Avenue along U.S. Highway 41, FOX 13 News reported. The driver who ran a red light – 24-year-old Eduardo Casto – operated a Hyundai SUV. 

Castro was impaired, having a blood alcohol content level of .124 and .119. He was arrested and charged with driving with a valid driver’s license and driving under the influence with personal damage.
