TAMPA, FL – The West Busch Boulevard and North Himes Avenue intersection in the Egypt Lake-Leto district is blocked due to a collision reported Thursday night. 

Florida Highway Patrol has not yet arrived at the scene and has not provided details regarding the events that led up to this collision.

TAMPA, FL – The person who drove a dark-colored Mercedes and, fatally hit a mailer carrier, and then left the scene has been found, arrested, and booked into the Falkenburg Road Jail Monday. 

FOX 13 News said the suspect was identified as 56-year-old Christopher Prater. 

To recap, the collision happened Monday when Prater struck a United States Postal Service Vehicle in the Fern Cliff neighborhood, leading it to roll over, claiming the life of the mail carrier — 69-year-old Paul Falica.

TAMPA, FL – Florida Highway Patrol were summoned to a collision on I-275 North at mile marker 40 before 7 p.m. Tuesday. 

Troopers arrived at the scene before 7:15 p.m. It is not immediately clear what led to this crash or if anyone was injured.

TAMPA, FL – Police have confirmed the identity of the United States Postal Service employee who died after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Fern Cliff area Monday. 

WFLA said the mail carrier — 69-year-old Paul Falica — was operating a USPS vehicle when the suspect, driving a dark-colored Mercedes sedan, hit him at the North River Cove Street and North Mulberry Street junction and then fled the scene. 

Falicia succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. Police located the suspect’s vehicle (which had damage consistent with the automobile that hit Falicia) on North 16th Street, a mile away from the collision. However, they have yet to catch the suspect.

TAMPA, FL – At least one person sustained injuries in a collision that happened on the 6200 block of Gunn Highway Monday night. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene at approximately 6:35 p.m. They are examining the sequence of events that led to this collision and did not say how many people and vehicles were involved or specify the severity of injuries.

TAMPA, FL – A United States Postal Service carrier lost his life after he was struck by a driver in the Fern Cliff neighborhood who then fled the scene Monday. 

This collision took place in the area of East River Cove Street and North Mulberry Street, according to ABC Action News

Tampa Police confirmed the suspect — an unidentified man — was driving a dark-colored Mercedes sedan when he hit the USPS vehicle. They found the sedan a mile from the collision site. However, they have yet to locate the driver.

TAMPA, FL – A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in the Hyde Park district Sunday. 

This collision took place at around 1:30 a.m. at the South Howard Avenue and West Azeele Street junction, according to Fox 13 News

Tampa Fire Rescue conducted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist before he later passed away at the hospital.

TAMPA, FL – Wet road conditions led a driver of a Pasco County Fire Rescue ambulance to hydroplane on I-275 North and ram into a concrete wall Sunday. 

The single-vehicle collision happened before 4:45 p.m. north of Fletcher Avenue. Florida Highway Patrol told WFLA that the driver was transporting the two patients on board to a Hillsborough County hospital when the crash happened. 

The driver and patients were able to escape injuries despite significant damage done to the vehicle.

TAMPA, FL – An 86-year-old man walking his bicycle on U.S. Highway 41 passed away after he was struck by an SUV driver who fled the scene Saturday. 

This collision happened before 6:45 p.m. south of Honeycrisp Court, according to ABC Action News. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officials did not describe the suspect’s SUV or reveal their appearance.

TAMPA, FL – A Toyota Corolla passenger, a 41-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries after her driver turned left and crashed into a Mack dump truck Thursday. 

This crash, which was reported before 2 p.m., happened when the Corolla driver — a 19-year-old woman — was going north on Nebraska Avenue and then hit the truck driver going southbound on Nebraska Avenue along Sinclair Hills Road, ABC Action News revealed. 

It is unclear if the truck driver, a 46-year-old adult, and the 19-year-old woman were injured, while the 41-year-old woman was sent to a hospital where she later died.
